If you tuned into the Emmy’s 2013 red carpet last night, you know the stars set their best foot forward for this year’s ceremony. The color schemes ran the gamut, with a good number of celebs sticking to trends like blush and nude tones as well as deep oxblood and royal blue. This year, I’ve selected 5 of the celebs who I deemed best dressed for the event. Check out my list of celebs who rocked the red carpet in style:
As a fashion/beauty blogger, I’m very open to trying all different types of products to determine what works best for my hair. Though I place an emphasis on using products that work best to achieve the looks I want, now that I’m pregnant I’ve been paying much closer attention to utilizing products that have more of a natural focus and quality ingredients that are effective but not harsh.

Come on ladies, don’t lie! If there is one other thing besides her catchy tunes and hot fashion that we’re obsessed with, it’s RiRi’s flawless make-up. Her face stays BEAT! After the successful launch of RiRi (Hearts) MAC in June, the fall collection is on it’s way and we are beyond the urge to do back flips.
I’ve never visited California, though I wish Christina would’ve stowed me in her luggage when she traveled to the golden state for Coachella.
Popular culture depicts California as a melting pot of ethnicities, languages and movie stars mixed to form a shallow concoction of celebrity-driven culture.
It’s been a decade since designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais offered their heavenly creation, Ruffian, to the fashion world. The fashion house has evolved tremendously – from a brand for the Elizabeth Taylors of the world to one millennial fashionistas gawk over – but even as they shift, Ruffian retains a common thread: Fresh, funky, vintage digs created in rich fabrics that are worth every penny.
New York Fashion Week isn’t complete without a backstage nail art report. LBS got exclusive behind the scenes access to the Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2014 show. Rebecca Minkoff teamed up with Essie to deliver runway-ready manis for the catwalk. Essie lead nail artist Michelle Saunders explains the looks below.
There is no doubt that summer is already saying its good-byes, but fashion is always a season or two ahead of the game, and so is Sicilian born fashion designer Fausto Puglisi. If you don’t know this name, after reading this you certainly will.
Fausto Puglisi is known for his signature shade of black and often 3d architectural feminine designs. Beyoncé Knowles, Fergie, and Coco Rocha are just a few whom have graced red carpets and celebrity events in this young designer’s remarkable creations. If you’ve watched the 2013 VMAs recently, Katy Perry also rocked Coco Rocha’s very same dress accessorized with her gold grills.
Not only have we derived this week’s Style Play Polish inspiration from Fausto Puglisi’s Resort 2014 Collection, but also from one of our favorite nail art designers/bloggers, Taryn Multak of Miss LadyFinger who is well known for her runway ready nails!
What you’ll need:
– White Nail Polish (Essie’s Marshmallow)
– Blue Nail Polish (Essie’s Avenue Maintain)
– Yellow Nail Polish (Butter London’s Cheeky Chops)
– Black Nail Art Polish
– Make-up Sponge
Step 1: Paint 2 coats of white nail polish on your prepped nails.
Step 2: Using the make-up sponge, create cloud like designs on your nails with the yellow and blue polish.
Step 3: To create the palm trees, you will need the black nail art polish. One brush stroke will create the trunk of the palm tree.
Step 4: Create two Xs across the first stroke 3/4 above the base of the trunk.
Step 5: Thicken the Xs and the pointed top, these are your branches.
Step 6: Use you brush to create fringes on your branches. When you apply your top coat, it will smooth out the design for a more realistic finish.
There you have it! Don’t forget, you don’t have to limit yourself to the colors used in this tutorial. Experiment and have fun! Let us know below what designs you’d like us to teach you in 5 steps or less!
