3 Tips For Longwear Summer Makeup with Covergirl

Summer makeup can be a little tricky, especially in hot, sticky & humid climates. For someone like me with combination skin that can get super oily in the T-Zone during summer months, it’s really important for me to use products that help keep my makeup in place even when the humidity says otherwise.

1. Start With Primer

To keep my summer makeup in shape, I always start my makeup routine with a solid primer. Primer is like the foundation for your foundation. It helps smooth out your skin so your foundation can go on smoothly and it also helps keep everything in place longer than it would without a primer.

Being out here in this NOLA heat, it was an absolute must for me to apply primer before my makeup. For this look I used Covergirl Outlast All-Day Primer. It works really well for smoothing out imperfections and my makeup lasted all day.

2. Opt for Longwear Lipstick

By default, I opt for a red lippie because it’s fun and it looks good with almost everything. I have a vast collection of reds that I love and this new Outlast Longwear Lipstick in Fireball is one that I’m about to file under the “faves” collection. It lasts all day and it doesn’t flake or crumble.

3. Go For Bold

The bolder you go with your lip & eye color or mascara, the less likely it will fade away throughout the day. Before heading out I make sure to accent my summer makeup lip with bold lashes which are my favorite assets.

Covergirl’s new Super Sizer by Lashblast Mascara had my lashes on fleek for my first day in NOLA.

What about you? Any of your own tips for making your makeup last long during these hot summer days?
