3 Ways to Rock It: Jumpsuits

3-ways-rock-it-jumpsuits-collageJumpsuits are one of the sleekest, chicest and sexist spring and summer trends. The wardrobe staple’s retail popularity is resurging after emerging during the 1970’s. Jumpsuits adorned the bodies of Pam Grier, Farah Fawcett and a number of other fabulous 70’s heroines, and are a throwback to a time of effortless sexiness. Now, jumpsuits are offered in an array of colors, textures, and fabrics, which is ideal for fashion enthusiasts seeking a versatile summer wardrobe. That versatility extends into the multiple fashion functions of jumpsuits.

Different jumpsuits can be worn to different locales, like on a vacation, to the office or on a first date, and can easily be dressed-up or down depending on the destination. Yet, many women avoid the jumpsuit. It can be an intimidating garment to conquer, but don’t fret. We’ve turned to three amazing bloggers – Jessica of Tuula, Karen Blanchard of Where Did U Get That and Sandee of Curve Envy – to ease the fear and encourage the plunge into the world of jumpsuits as fashion staples.

There’s nothing like a dope floral jumpsuit. The playful print combined with the cut makes Jessica Stein’s jumpsuit worth pining for. She allows her jumpsuit to be the focal point of her outfit by wearing minimum accessories. Her simple flats, gold rings and quilted shoulder bag lets her jumpsuit dazzle while keeping the overall look casual. Read Jessica’s full post here.

Denim jumpsuits are ill-advised and risky … unless you’re Karen Blanchard. The Where Did U Get That blogger slays this unconventional garment. She also reinforces a tried-and-true motto: Less is more. Instead of accessorizing heavily to balance her jumpsuit, Blanchard snaps the bottom of the jeans with the strap of her fierce, white pump. She also forgoes jewelry in favor of simple sunglasses. Pristine and perfect. Browse Karen’s full post here.

Sandee is selling the jumpsuit as office attire, and we’re definitely buying. She layers a floral jumpsuit under a white blazer, which adds instant corporate credibility. Sandee rocks white, open-toed pump with an appropriate heel for work and a black tote large enough for all of the office essentials. She adds a pop of boldness by sealing the look with gold hoops.
