Afropunk is coming back to Brooklyn this August. The annual festival is the epitome of Brooklyn cool combining eclectic musical selections with fabulous food and laid-back style. With acts like Lenny Kravitz, Lauryn Hill, Grace Jones and Kelis gracing the stage this year promises to be as great an experience as previous years. Unsure what to wear for this fun-filled weekend?  We’ve rounded up four stylish plus-size outfits to help you enjoy any of the weekend’s activities in comfort and style.

Fancy Dress Ball

This year the traditionally socially conscious Afropunk is all about partying for a purpose. They are holding their first official Afropunk Ball in Barry Commodore Park benefiting their Global Initiative which works to encourage inclusion and diversity in the media as well as promote volunteer service.  Show up ready to support the cause in a bandeau dress from Asos ($81.00). At under $100 this dress is a steal that can be dressed down for occasions that aren’t quite as formal. Finish the look with metallic heels and jeweled earrings.

After Dark

The party doesn’t end once the day is over. Afropunk will be taking the celebration to the streets with local bars, restaurants, and clubs joining in on the fun. Be prepared for anything in this flirty romper and tassled backpack.
