The first ever Brown Girls Love Power Day was filled with dynamic and uplifting speakers including a member of the LoveBrownSugar family. Not only is minister Rashida Selise Wilson a powerful motivational speaker who coaches women to sync their career choices with their spiritual centers she’s also the older sister of LoveBrownSugar founder Christina S. Brown. Rashida skillfully counsels through encouragement and education displaying an impressive level of poise. Her Power Day workshop revolved around the need for channeling a spirit of discernment. No matter their occupation or denomination everyone can use a little help with decision-making and Rashida provided that with clear and concise suggestions. She spoke to attendees about the power of being still and listening to the true source of their motivations.

1. Determine if the idea syncs with your purpose.
It’s easier and more rewarding when you embark upon ideas that align with your natural gifts and God given abilities. Consider if your idea lends itself to your overall mission.
2. Temper your faith with wisdom.
Faith is the key element when pursuing a God idea, but coupling your faith with wise and experienced counsel, to help you avoid blind pursuits is critical.
3. Count up the cost.
Everything we pursue in life has a cost so it’s wise to carefully consider every resource it will take to accomplish your goal before setting out to achieve it.
4 . Harness your charisma & creativity.
When you are confident and creative you are unstoppable and opportunities open to you are almost limitless. But learning to harness that energy will help you avoid pursuing what’s appealing but not purposed.
