Summer is dwindling down and it’s almost time to say goodbye to swimsuits and tanned skin. All summer long I’ve been keeping my skin protected from those intense sun rays using this line of my new favorite products.
The Moroccan Oil Sun collection has literally been my go to for beach trips, pool parties and any outdoor activity this summer. This smooth, lightweight formula hydrates and nourishes the skin.
It’s broad spectrum, water-resistant sun protection lasts up to 80 minutes to help protect from UVA/UVB rays. This was the first “sunscreen lotion” I’ve ever tried that left my skin with a subtle glow rather than a greyish film all over my body.
Find about more about Moroccan oil below.
If you’re anything like me the thought of adding another step to your beauty regimen sounds daunting. I’ll admit I love beauty & skincare, but I also love to keep things simple. However, after years of dealing with oily skin and makeup that wouldn’t last more than a few hours I finally gave in and decided it was time to add a primer/ pore filler to my makeup arsenal. A couple months ago LBS was invited to attend the launch event for the ROC SMOOTH PERFEXION Instant Line Corrector. I had the chance to experience this product first hand and I must say it lives up to it’s hype. Keep reading if you’re interested in learning how I incorporate this product into my simple regimen.
One of the main reasons I created LoveBrownSugar was because I saw a real lack of representation for women of color in the fashion and beauty industries. Not only was I tired of seeing the same faces on the cover of magazines, I was also tired of not getting style and beauty advice that fit my aesthetic and spoke to me as a consumer.
With that in mind, I created a platform that would celebrate women of color and the beauty in our diversity. Because of that mission, I truly get excited about any and every project that highlights strides in the direction of inclusion. So when I heard that Corey Huggins, Founder and Global CEO of love, Aunt Bonnie was behind Cosmoprof’s very first beauty showcase geared towards women of color, I was not only intrigued but excited. FINALLY, at a major global luxury trade show like Cosmoprof, there will be an original showcase of the best and brightest in up & coming brown beauty brands.
It’s finally starting to feel like summer over here on the east coast. I don’t know about you ladies, but we are excited and ready to hit the sand! One of the challenges many of us makeup lovers have to deal with is finding the “appropriate” makeup look for the sun, sand and water. That’s certainly not the place to show up with a full face of makeup only for it to get ruined after one splash in the ocean. If you are headed to the beach this weekend and in need of some ideas we’ve got you covered! Keep reading for our 6 beach-approved makeup tips.
