RockFringeThe first things that come to mind when people think of fringe are “flapper,” “western,” or the iconic “Proud Mary” outfit worn by Tina Turner. However, fringe can be incorporated into our everyday lives. Whether its on our shoes or shirt, fringe adds a different element to an outfit, allowing us to look F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!

Devyni Hightower decided to incorporate fringe in her outfit by adding a fringe backpack. The key to stepping away from a “western” look when wearing fringe is to step away from the suede material. The leather provides a chic edge, and the fringe gives her outfit dimension.

3 Ways to Rock It: Jumpsuits

3-ways-rock-it-jumpsuits-collageJumpsuits are one of the sleekest, chicest and sexist spring and summer trends. The wardrobe staple’s retail popularity is resurging after emerging during the 1970’s. Jumpsuits adorned the bodies of Pam Grier, Farah Fawcett and a number of other fabulous 70’s heroines, and are a throwback to a time of effortless sexiness. Now, jumpsuits are offered in an array of colors, textures, and fabrics, which is ideal for fashion enthusiasts seeking a versatile summer wardrobe. That versatility extends into the multiple fashion functions of jumpsuits.

Different jumpsuits can be worn to different locales, like on a vacation, to the office or on a first date, and can easily be dressed-up or down depending on the destination. Yet, many women avoid the jumpsuit. It can be an intimidating garment to conquer, but don’t fret. We’ve turned to three amazing bloggers – Jessica of Tuula, Karen Blanchard of Where Did U Get That and Sandee of Curve Envy – to ease the fear and encourage the plunge into the world of jumpsuits as fashion staples. more this way

3 Ways to Rock It: Capes

3 Ways Capes - CollageElegance, glamour and spunk were inherent in the 1920’s. It was fused with the closets of dapper women who were concerned with their image and their comfort. Capes met both needs. The cape is a fashion staple that emerges on the catwalk every few seasons. Offered in an array of textures, hues and prints, capes are cozy alternatives to coats. The lack of structure makes capes an ideal piece for layering, especially for pregnant women like Christina, who looked amazing in a tweed cape.

Donning a cape injects grandeur into a casual outfit, but it is also the epitome of glam. We’ve tapped Tanesha Awasthi of Girl with Curves, Ms. Sole of Love, Life, Pearls and Krystin Hargrove of Be Loud Be You to highlight how we can all wear capes that are authentic to our fashion sensibilities.
