LBS Beauty Review: Doo You Bop Club + GIVEAWAY

doo-you-bopSo you guys may remember earlier this month that I did a Sick Site Spotlight featuring new online beauty destination DooBop.com. Aside from being obsessed with their ncLA nail wraps and the entire premise of the site, I decided to take a stab at their Doo You Bop club as well. With any subscription service, I like to give it at least a 30 day test run before sharing my opinions on it.  I tried it out this month and here are my thoughts:

doo-you-bop-subscriptionThe idea behind Doo You Bop is that for $15/month you receive VIP treatment by way of product recommendations, personal service and product discounts. If you’re a beauty junkie who likes a little bit of direction about which products to try out next (and something tailored to you as opposed to just lumped into a monthly box) then this is a great service for you.

The first step in the process is a one-on-one phone consultation with one of the Doo You Bop experts. They have celebrity stylists and experts in beauty who do the consultations – very cool. The DooBop.com team offered to have co-founder Jodie Patterson do my beauty consultation. She asked me everything about my beauty regimen and my overall lifestyle from how often I wear makeup to how frequently I wash my hair and even what problem areas I have with my skin. It was a VERY thorough consultation about my overall beauty needs.

doo-you-bop-clubNext, I was sent a full package of beauty samples to give a try. Everything that was sent to me was based on my consultation. For example, I told Jodie that now that I’m a mom I don’t wear makeup as often. But when I do I like to make sure I can get it all off before I start kissing on my princess. My package has a nice little sample of the Dermablend Longwear Makeup Remover.

earths-nectar-dermablendI also told Jodie that I co-wash my natural hair often and that I style it in twisouts and braidouts. So my packet also included two products from Earth’s Nectar that I am in LOVE with. A Mint Leaves & Tea Tree Conditioner that I used as a Cowash because it was so juicy and fresh-smelling (and it made my scalp feel amazing).

earths-nectar-monoi-hair-milkAlso the Earth’s Nectar Monoi Hair Milk which is about to be my go-to hair moisturizer. For my hair type, it’s like the perfect mix of a creme and pomade. The texture is right down the middle – it’s not too heavy and not too light. It also smells great.

I haven’t gotten to all the other products but so far I really like what was sent to me and love that it was personally tailored to my needs. If you’re the type of beauty shopper who would appreciate personal service and great product recommendations, I absolutely recommend Doo You Bop online beauty club.
