When it comes to closet staples, there are quite a few pieces that I consider non-negotiable in a fashionista’s closet. Blazers, tailored pants and a great-fitting dress are three of those staples. I have each of these pieces in white because it’s a classic color, easy to mix and match and it looks so crisp and clean!
In case you’re wondering how you can incorporate a white piece into your wardrobe (outside of the classic white oxford), here’s how to do it, featuring some simple pieces that you can easily find at your favorite store:
The Little White Dress
If you have a little black dress in your closet that you swear by, you should undoubtedly invest in a great white dress to throw on – especially in the summer time. The one up above from ASOS is a great dress for both day and night.
This lace one from my White Lace & Leopard post looks really great with a pair of leopard print heels and a turquoise bag.
This peplum one is from Fashion To Figure and it is one of my favorites because the ruffles on either side are really figure-flattering. I wore it in my Wacoal post here.
The White Blazer
A white blazer is one piece I think every fashionista should have. It goes well with any outfit and instantly makes you look pulled together and polished. The one above from my Boden Printed Pants post is from H&M. I got it for $50 earlier this season and I literally wear it with everything.
The White Pants
White pants are a nice addition to your wardrobe whether for a special occasion or for a weekend brunch. The tuxedo pair above are from Simply Be and I wore them in my Refinery 29 maternity shoot.
The White Skirt
This is a nice addition to your closet, but not necessarily a “staple”. This lace one was a fun addition to my summer wardrobe in 2012. I featured it in my Denim Ballerina post.
