1. Cleanse: Properly washing your face is the first step to healthy skin. What type of cleanser you use depends on your skin type and if you suffer from any conditions like acne or sensitive skin. If you aren’t sure, start with a mild light weight cleanser.  Make sure you wash your face with warm water each morning and each night.

2. Exfoliate: This is a very important step that most of us neglect. Exfoliating helps slough off dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. Using a gentle natural exfoliator like brown sugar or even a store bought product on a weekly bases will help reveal brighter skin over time. How often you exfoliate depends on your personal preference. Those with oily skin may benefit from this technique 2-3 times per week. Where as those with sensitive or dry skin may need to do this less often. When creating a regimen you have to work with your body and figure out what works best for you.

3. Tone: This step is optional, but very beneficial in most causes, especially if you suffer from oily skin. Using a toner is a gentle way to remove excess oils and help balance the PH levels in your skin which are often thrown off by harsh chemicals that are in most acne products.
