This past Monday I had the pleasure of attending the launch event of a new product called, “The Tulip” by InStyler. Since I am a long time fan of the original instyler I was thrilled to attend and test out this new product. The Tulip is an auto curler that works in as little as 3 seconds! I will be completely honest, initially I was very skeptical about this tool. I assumed that even if it really did work, it would NOT work on my natural hair. Boy was I wrong. Keep reading to learn more about the Instyler Tulip event and my experience using the product.
The event was held at the fabulous Cutler Salon in Soho, NY.
I was greeted by hair stylist Armond Hambrick who walked me through the simple process. 
He explained that there are three different heat settings and three different timer settings. For example, for beach waves setting the auto curler on 3 is best. However, if you want a tighter spiral you’d put the curler on setting 8. There is also a 2- way curling setting. That means no more switching hands and positions for each side.

For my hair texture we decided to use the highest heat level. I had just removed my two strand twists to create a curly bang style so I was very skeptical that it would actually curl my hair. However, after the first try I sat in the chair in pure amazement realizing that the auto curler had removed the texture created by my two strand twists and I was left with beautiful loose curls. Although I’m sure that I would have had even better results if my hair was previously blown out, I was very impressed by the final outcome.
One of the great things about the Tulip is that it works to smooth and curl the hair at the same time. The anti-tangle technology made it so easy to use. In order to achieve this style all I did was put a small section of hair into the tool, press one button, hold it in place for about 3-5 seconds and that’s it! Another amazing feature about this curler is the safety guard around the top. This feature makes it impossible to burn yourself. I was so impressed by these results! The curls are very similar to the look I achieve from using “caruso steam rollers or a curling wand.”
