LBS Runway Report: Isabel Toledo for Lane Bryant

isabel-toledo-lane-bryantLast week I had the pleasure of attending my very first plus-size runway show. As you guys know, I frequent New York Fashion Week in February and September but very rarely are there plus-size collections being debuted during those weeks.

Just in time for spring, Lane Bryant has partnered up with iconic fashion designer Isabel Toledo to produce an exciting capsule collection of chic pieces. Check out a few of my faves from the collection:

I absolutely LOVED this tailored white dress with flutter sleeves.

I also loved this bright pop of color and the overall fit of this wrap front dress.

This lace shift dress and matching lace jacket are so great for a day to night look.

“I look at things first from the perspective of how they’re made. Then, I add the fashion!” – Isabel Toledo

I love that quote from Isabel Toledo because it really speaks to the importance of creating well constructed pieces first, then adding flair to it. At the end of the day, especially for plus-sized women, the construction and tailoring of an item means so much to how great we look in it.

What I love most about the collection is that it can really bring a girl from day to night. And she has pieces in here for almost anyone from the prints-crazy bohemian to the classic sophisticate. I think she put alot of thought into the construction of each piece and everything looks really well-tailored.

Check out Isabel Toledo below discussing her design aesthetic as well as the collection:
