So you guys know from some of my previous recaps like the NYFW Crawl and the NOLA Crawl that I tend to travel ALOT with my main squeezes – Jessica of Glamazons Blog, Danielle of The Style & Beauty Doc, and Lexi of Lexi With The Curls. Whenever we get together we always have an amazing time and earlier this month was no exception. I spent 3 lovely days in the Caribbean touring the beautiful island of Barbados. In my 10 Things To Do in Barbados post I highlighted all the top to-dos. In this post I’ll recap how much fun I had with the girls.
Day 1: Just Lounging
So on the first day in Barbados, the girls and I took it easy. They had just flown in from whining down in Trinidad & Tobago for Carnival. And I had just flown in from home after a sleepless night up packing for the trip, finishing up work and making sure BabyBrownSugar was all set before leaving.
We stayed at the St. Lawrence Beach Apartments in St. Lawrence Gap, Christ Church, Barbados. The view was spectacular and the property is beach front.
We slept most of the day, took selfies, lounged by the beach and ate. It was a glorious day.
That evening we went to Brown Sugar Restaurant in the Aquatic Gap of Barbados and I had some yummy Curried Shrimp.
More about the restaurant in this post.
Day 2: Swimming With The Turtles
We get up around 9:00AM to get ready for today’s excursion – a snorkeling tour & boat ride! I love boat rides. They are my favorite thing on vacation. I also love to snorkel so this was about to be my kinda day.
I decided to opt for my favorite high-waisted two-piece from H&M. I wore it to Coachella in this post as well.

To gear up for the long day, I went with Jessica to the Moonbay Bar & Grill down the street from our hotel to get some breakfast. I had the Sausage & Egg breakfast and it was…delish. The service there is superb as well. Win-win!
I took a few moments to pose in front of a canary yellow wall along the streets of St. Lawrence Gap. Such a beautiful place.
The four of us had a blast with the Seascapes Fishing crew. Our tour guide, Bim, took us to see the turtles as well as some really cool shipwrecks.
We saw at least 5 sea turtles up close. I named one Leroy. I think he liked me.
On the way back, we danced and drank rum punch and pretended that we didn’t have work waiting for us back at the hotel. A blogger’s work is never done.
Later in the afternoon, we headed to the beach to catch a few last rays of sun before the sun set.
Lexi and I had a mini photoshoot courtesy Danielle.
She’s our fave photographer, obvi.
Day 3: Exploring The Island
On the third day (and my last), we took a tour with the Barbados Tourism Authority to see the major sights and cultural landmarks of the island.
First stop was St. John’s Parish Church.
It is so beautiful and I fell in love with the architecture as well as the view. It was constructed in the 1800’s.
I kept it simple in an ASOS Collection white dress, my Sam Edelman gladiator flats and my fave BaubleBar necklace.
The church sits high atop a cliff and you can see the entire coastline from there.
Next up, our driver took us to Hackleton’s Cliff which has absolutely gorgeous views of the east coast.
I saw a house up there (brightly colored of course) that resembles the type of small countryside home I want as my vacation home when I “make it big” one day. I’ve always wanted a vacation home in the Caribbean.
Next we went to this beautiful beach with these amazing sculpted rock figures lining the sands. So beautiful.
I caught the girls having a #selfie moment. Gotta love it.
After this, I went off to the airport in Bridgetown to catch my flight back home. I had SUCH an amazing time in Barbados. Huge thanks to the Barbados Tourism Authority for our island tour on Day 3. Check out Visit
