Kickin’ It: Curly Nikki & LoveBrownSugar Meet-Up

Last Thursday at Pranna NYC, myself and Curly Nikki teamed up for a super chic meet-up & afterparty to Nikki’s very first NYC shindig. I met so many lovely ladies, both blog followers of LoveBrownSugar and of Curly Nikki and overall had a blast! Check out the pics below:

I met Nikki at her meet-up at the Carlton Hotel just an hour before our shindig across the street. She’s even more beautiful in person, and the sweetest thing! (plus, her HAIR is a-ma-zing) For the special occasion, I went with an edgy meets sophisticated look with a royal blue mesh oxford, a leather mini dress, black pumps, my fave fringe bag & milkmaid braids courtesy Dickey of Hair Rules! This hair has a story – I’ll be posting about my experience at Hair Rules shortly!
I partied with some lovely folks at the event including Imani of A Tribe Called Curl and Karen, founder of natural product line Karen’s Body Beautiful.
So many gorgeous heads of hair!

HUGE shoutout to Sherry Blossom (below left) for taking these wonderful pictures. Check out her blog for even more scenes from the event.

Danielle of RhapsoDani (right) came out as well, looking absolutely stunning.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting the two ladies behind Urban Bush Babes, Cipriana & Nikisha – they’re gorge!

Cassadie from Natural Selection blog was there as well, repping for NaturallyCurly.com!

And I must send a big hearty thank you to Pranna for allowing us to use their space. The food was amazing. Ever had Chicken Tikka? It will change your life.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out! And everyone who greeted us with smiles & hugs. Had an amazing time!

Check out Curly Nikki’s post-event wrap up as well. She had some seriously chic ladies at her NYC meet-up. Till next time, holler at me in the comments section!

  1. This sounded like a lot of fun. I would have gone had I been in NYC. And i LOVE LOVE that leather dress/skirt your wearing. You’ve gotta spill the beans on where you got it from.

Have an event like that in the DC area, I could come for that one, and Im sure alot of other people and bloggers would attend as well. Just keep me updated.

    PS You hair is adorable
