During our annual #NOLACrawl we had quite a few events to attend this year for Essence Fest. We always fill up our schedules with the cool girl events that are must-do and must-see in the city during 4th of July weekend. So when we got an invitation to attend The Cut Life‘s two-year anniversary shindig at Studio504 in New Orleans, we went on over to celebrate with the co-founders and to sip cocktails and chat it up with fellow guests.

Sponsored by African Pride, The Cut Life LIVE NOLA was a super chic in-salon event featuring live haircuts by celebrity stylist Shay Michelle. I’ve been admiring The Cut Life on Instagram from afar for some time now. I friggin’ LOVE how fearless and carefree short hair seems to be. I’ve never had a super short cut but these ladies have me convinced it’s the way to go.

We enjoyed cocktails by MYX Fusions (really yummy flavored moscato drinks) and got goodie bags with African Pride products like their 2-in-1 shampoo/condish and their edge control gel (must-have for flyaways in humid climates like NOLA!).

Had a really great time at the event. Happy two years to The Cut Life!
