LBS Beauty: Get Cassie’s Braided Bun

Cassielook3

Perfecting a Cassie look can be tricky, but not impossible. A couple weeks ago the beauty took to instagram and posted this look. I immediately said to myself, “That hairstyle is so cute! I can do that!” This is where I thought I would master this style in 5 minutes or less. I was wrong, but click below to see how I finally got it together.

It’s not perfect, but it definitely came out much better than I thought it would. This was the beautiful photo that Cassie posted where I got my inspiration for this look:

I love a good bun hairstyle because it’s super easy, and always looks put together. I loved that this look had two braids going up the side because it added an edgier appeal to the style. Cassie’s makeup was also flawless, I loved how the natural colors complimented her style.

First, to get Cassie’s look, I started with my hair. I simply made a one inch part going across the front of my head and then about a half inch part going back into where I would place my bun. It was actually a little difficult to perfect the braid because I’m really not the best at tight braiding. As you can see from the picture Cassie’s braid is definitely tighter than mine but I like a more relaxed look anyway, so it worked out ok.

After I completed the two braids, after about 10 attempts, I brushed my hair into a bun and slicked it down with some eco styler gel. Once I had the bun where I liked it, I used several bobby pins to secure it in place.

After my hair was complete, I used some edge control and used a head scarf to tie around the perimieter of my hairline until my face was complete.

For my makeup look, I kept it really simple, similar to how Cassie did. I started with my usual suspects including Make Up Forever HD Foundation. The two things I try new was the Smashbox photo finish primer and the Sacha buttercup setting powder. On my lips, I used Stingraye by ColourPop.

I bronzed up the look with Makeup Forever HD Bronzer and of course a little highlight action was incorporated into the look, I used my favorite Chosungah 22 24H Raybeam Highlighter and Oh Darling by Mac.
