LBS Beauty Review: Carol’s Daughter Transitioning 1-2-3

It’s here! So if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (username: lovebrownsugar), you know that I recently took the following pic after being sent a new box of Carol’s Daughter’s Transitioning 1-2-3 Kit.

Yes, ladies if you’re transitioning from relaxed to natural (or already 100% natural), look no further. This the kit for you. The Transitioning 1-2-3 Kit is CD’s answer to the two-texture struggle. It claims to contribute to 93% less shedding, healthier scalp and softer strands. But even if you only have one texture, this kit is spot on. Keep reading for the awesomeness…

First things first, you know I’m a “packaging is everything” type of girl. I’m in love with the painted, turquoise packaging on the box and on the products. It will definitely stand out on a beauty shelf. Now onto what’s inside…

Each kit contains 3 main elements: Purifying Extra Gentle Cleanser, Renewing Scalp Spray, and Restoring Anti-Breakage Treatment. The Kit recommends using the  Purifying Cleanser first, then the Renewing Scalp Spray and finally the Anti-Breakage treatment as the final step. I used them in that order.

Here are my thoughts on each product after one trial:

1. Purifying Extra Gentle Cleanser

– This product is amazing for clarifying hair
– 100% Naturals (not Transitioners), I wouldn’t recommend using this more than once a week. It’s definitely for purifying and not for packing in moisture
– Very low lather
– Amazing smell

2. Renewing Scalp Spray

– Where has this product been all my life? Love it!
– Cool, refreshing tingle on the scalp after using
– It EXFOLIATES your scalp, gently. Umm, amaze
– Perfect for transitioners who wear extensions and braids
– Great as a mid-week scalp refresher if you don’t have time to shampoo

3. Restoring Anti-Breakage Treatment

– Great creamy consistency for a deep treatment
– Perfect to use under the dryer
– Leaves hair soft & smooth

  26. I am 38 and have used relaxers since I was 12 years old. I didn’t even think about what my natural hair might look like until I had my daughters. I tell my 4 year old that she has beautiful, thick, natural hair that she should always be proud of. If it’s up to me, neither of them will ever have a drop of relaxer in their beautiful hair. Lately I began to ask myself “so why I am still perming my hair?” Does it go deeper than my excuse that it is “convenient”? Bottomline is that I cut about an inch of my hair off every month and started transitioning 4 months ago. A product line such as this would definitely help and I would love to try it. I honestly debate every week if I should just get a relaxer again. Right now the different textures are a struggle – BUT I remain focused since I want to set the example for my daughters so that they always love the way God made them and never feel that they have to use a perm.     I’m three months into transitioning, and have been so blessed by the wealth of info from youtubers and bloggers. You do a lot to inspire me and keep my hair spirits high. The Transitioning Kit would be fabulous to combat the dry spell and rough edges I’m experiencing.   32. The scalp spray sounds like LOVE! Ok so I’m transitioning for the second time in 4 years. I had a impulsive relapse, instead of cutting the man out my hair, I permed it. HORRIBLE choice. I’m now dealing with horrible breakage and abused scalp. I’ve deciding to start loving my hair for who she is and giving her the TLC she deserves!
