LBS Beauty Review: Essence Beauty Box

There’s no shortage of subscription boxes on the market these days. You can pretty much get everything from lingerie to pet treats delivered to you on a monthly basis. So when it comes to sorting through which subscription boxes make the most sense to review for you all, I take my curating job very seriously. When ESSENCE announced they were starting a new beauty box subscription service, immediately I was intrigued. Considering how much I love the magazine and the editors behind it, I knew this would be a well-curated box. Essence Beauty Box exceeded my expectations.

The first thing I noticed in the October box that was sent to me was the quality of products in the box. Many of the brands in the box were my personal favorites, like EDEN BodyWorks, L’Occitane and CURLS.

These aren’t just drugstore favorites either. L’Occitane is a higher end skincare brand and there were also brands like Tarte (didn’t know I needed a brow architect until I started using this) and Eternity Now fragrance by Calvin Klein. Here’s a complete list of the products in the box:

EDEN BodyWorks Coconut Shea Leave-In Conditioner

CURLS Creme Brûlée

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Creme

Eternity Now by Calvin Klein

Tarte “The Brow Architect”

Everything is neatly packaged and all the products are travel size, so I’ve literally been toting them around town in my purse and taking them on trips with me. If you ask me, that’s one of the best things about the subscription boxes – you can use the sample size items as travel beauty items in your carry-on!

All in all, I really loved my inaugural Essence Beauty Box and I’m looking forward to the November and December boxes. What about you? Would you give the service a try??
