LBS Beauty Review: Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp & Tamanu + Giveaway

nubian-heritage-product-review
As a fashion/beauty blogger, I’m very open to trying all different types of products to determine what works best for my hair. Though I place an emphasis on using products that work best to achieve the looks I want, now that I’m pregnant I’ve been paying much closer attention to utilizing products that have more of a natural focus and quality ingredients that are effective but not harsh.

For that reason, I was really excited to discover hair brand Nubian Heritage. Nubian Heritage creates salon-quality natural product solutions that combat breakage and brittle hair. This is especially awesome as we curly girls consider switching up to moisturizing hair products for the harsh winter months.

Nubian Heritage recently expanded its Indian Hemp & Tamanu Hair Care collection to feature two new products – the Indian Hemp & Tamanu Strengthen & Grow Moisturizing Co-Wash ($11.99) and the Indian Hemp & Tamanu Strengthen & Grow Moisturizing Curl Gel ($11.99).

So let’s start with the Moisturizing Co-Wash:

For the Moisturizing Curl Gel:

I’m sure you could probably pop it in the fridge so that it hardens a little more, but this product is definitely for ultimate moisturizing with a light hold, frizz control and to encourage shine.

Again this is more of a product that I would use to moisturize, smooth frizz and encourage shine as opposed to using it for a tight hold on styles, if that makes sense.

nubian-heritage-productsThe lovely folks at Nubian Heritage have agreed to give TWO of you lovelies your very own Nubian Heritage prize pack which includes both the Indian Hemp & Tamanu Strengthen & Grow Moisturizing Co-Wash (retail $11.99) and the Indian Hemp & Tamanu Strengthen & Grow Moisturizing Curl Gel (retail $11.99).

  1. Never tried a hemp product. Would this have medicinal attributes for dry, itchy and flaky scalps?

    1. Hi Veronica! That’s a really great question. From what I read about these particular two products, it seems as if the focus is more on the actual hair’s health as opposed to scalp maintenance. However in a press release from the brand the founder Richelieu Dennis states “We searched the globe looking for the best all-natural ingredients to promote healthy hair and scalp, and have added them into our formulations in a culturally authentic way to ensure our customers receive the traditional benefits.” So based on that I’d say the ingredients are definitely geared towards promoting healthy scalp as well!

  2. I know this post is about hair lol, but you have an amazing blog. I’ve admired it for a while now, so I thought I’d stop creeping and finally leave a comment. As a young blogger/ entrepreneur I am really inspired by your journey! Thank you for sharing 🙂
