LBS in Los Angeles: Day 1

So amidst all the 2012 BET Awards craziness and red carpet coverage, I did have a few restful moments to play dress up, enjoy my hotel and peruse the big city of Los Angeles. Despite it being the capital of the entertainment industry, I’ve always wanted to experience the glitz and glamour of this city. Here’s a recap of my first day:




I checked into the Chamberlain Hotel West Hollywood the afternoon I arrived. The service was really amazing and the room itself was a dream. It’s tucked away in West Hollywood, between residences but right off of Sunset Boulevard which was a nice surprise.

I came in from my flight in my typical travel attire. Fresh face, leggings, a black tank, a vintage army jacket and flats. 

Easy breezy. 

For my first day on set at the Shrine, I decided to do something light and airy but still chic, so I opted for my favorite Forever 21 maxi, my gold jewels and my Allesandra Keyhole Satchel in mint blue from Handbag Heaven (on sale for $42 now!). 

Did I tell you guys I found my favorite maxi in violet? I blogged about the turquoise one here.

I created my makeup look with the Rachel Roy Day & Night Eyeshadow palette and my new favorite pink lipstick Smashbox Be Legendary in Fuschia Flash ($19).

I went with bangles from street vendors & Ann Taylor LOFT…
…and topped it off with a set of Mod Stacker rings from Glitterings ($58). My tribal nails are courtesy celebrity stylist Lisa Logan – her new Minx Professional for Lisa Logan in MUMBA.
