LBS Kickin’ It: Made in America Day 1

This Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the 4th annual Budweiser Made in America festival. I have gone each year and I can honestly say the event has gotten bigger and better than ever. Once a three stage affair, this year the festival featured FIVE stages with music acts of all genres enticing attendees. My excitement was seriously high on opening day as I awaited the performances of Death Cab for Cutie, G-Eazy, Meek Mill and more.

The main attraction of course was the one and only Beyoncé.  Mrs. Carter herself shut it down on the main stage headlining with a newly worked set and super stylish costumes that reminded Philadelphia why she runs the world

She opened with a dramatic rendition of her contribution to the soundtrack for “Fifty Shades of Grey” appearing doll like yet dominant in a life-sized doll box.

The queen then took it back to 1998 performing songs from Destiny’s child including “Say My Name” and “Jumping Jumping”. Kelly was front and center sitting near Ms. Tina as Beyonce’ showed her and Michelle Williams love by shouting them out on stage.

She even shared some of that love with the crowd love pausing during her smash duet “Feeling Myself” to slip on a sequined Sixers jersey dress.

Kelly and her glowing skin were also spotted out hanging out with Made in America performer Nick Jonas.

Jonas was also seen with Jay z, who curates the festival according to his taste, providing both quality and variety. To me that’s what makes Made in America special and why I keep coming back year after year. Anywhere where I can see Modest Mouse and Future in the same weekend is somewhere I need to be!

Philadelphia native Meek Mill treated the crowd to a much anticipated sighting of his lady Nicki Minaj who made a surprise appearance on stage joining him to perform their song “All Eyes on You” without breaking a sweat or dropping her designer handbag.

Meek and his boys then joined the crowd on hoverboards. Hey if you’ve got dreams to chase a hoverboard might come in handy!
