LBS Kickin’ It: Made in America Day 2

This Sunday I got to say goodbye to summer at the second day of the 4th annual Budweiser Made in America festival.

Fabolous graced the stage earlier in the day setting the tone for a day filled with rap superstars. The ultimate cool guy’s set combined brotherly love with New York Swag when Philly natives Freeway and the Young Gunz surprised the crowd by joining him. He embraced the crowd again on social media later that night playing hilarious clips of hometown hero Kevin Hart on his instagram page.

I’m a huge Fabolous fan (Soul Tape 3 is still on my treadmill playlist) but my favorite part of his set was meeting a LoveBrownSugar reader! It’s always dope to hear what you guys think about the blog and that experience totally made my day.

Immediately after Big Sean took the crowd to paradise with a performance that was motivating and passionate.

Dark Sky Paradise is always good for a pick me up. I literally listen to at least three tracks from it every morning on the commute to work. If you haven’t copped this album yet you are seriously missing out! From the chill “I know”  featuring Jhene Aiko to the turnt up “Blessings” featuring Drake and Kanye West the entire album will make you feel like you can accomplish anything. And when it comes to great rap music isn’t that really the point? Sean drove home the point by asking the crowd where the future millionaires were at eliciting screams from what I’d like to imagine was a large group of future entrepreneurs.

Future lit up the Liberty Stage performing both mixtape joints and album cuts and while there continues to be consistent buzz around about his personal life we at LoveBrownSugar just want to know about his hat connect!

Jidenna kept it classic during his performance of his hit single then ventured into “sophistiratchet” territory with a yoga booty contest. Find about more about that here and keep out on the look out for his exclusive interview with Christina!

Grits and Biscuits crushed it with a cool DJ set inviting our very own Christina up on stage! Check out her awesome Made in America experiences on Snapchat.

The Weeknd left it all on the main stage. From fireworks to fierce vocal range this high-energy performance was worth the nine hour wait.

He literally performed ALL of my favorite songs including the much talked about “Drunk in Love Remix”. He thanked Jay z and “the beautiful Beyonce'” for allowing him to take the stage then joked with the crowd that he appreciated them accepting him at Made in America despite his being from Canada.

I enjoyed the show, dancing alongside two beautiful brown girls I met from D.C. and LA, and by the end of the night both my knees and my chuck taylors had had enough!

But even though I left filthy and sore I’m already looking forward to next year’s festivities.
