One of the first things I noticed about the TriBeCa Beauty Spa is that it feels like a home. It’s less of an NYC establishment and more like a bed & breakfast in Vermont. Tucked away, cozy, and warm. On my first visit to TriBeca Beauty Spa, I was treated to my first full-fledged facial and I was a little nervous about the process. I’m very sensitive and careful when it comes to my skin, especially my face, but my specialist Nadia immediately put me at ease.

tribeca-beauty-spa-cabinet“You have great skin! We’re going to take great care of you, ” she assured. After filling out a short consultation form where I was asked questions about my skincare concerns, potential allergies, and my spa history, I was led to a back room with soft lighting, calming ocean sounds and a robe for me to change into.

Nadia first evaluated my skin type and my problem areas, which included clogged pores, blackheads and some unevenness. She proceeded to craft a custom facial based on my skincare needs. She started by cleansing my skin and opening my pores with a hot towel and a gentle massage. She then proceeded to give me an enzyme peel to slough off dead skin. Next, she treated my skin with microdermabrasion, which felt like light suction mixed with exfoliation.

After that, she performed an extraction, which was painful but (as she assured me), necessary to remove the blackheads and clear my skin completely. It consists of literally extracting the dirt and oil clogging the pores, with pressure. Next she gave me a mushroom peel followed by a mud mask to really clarify the skin. And finally, she gave my skin a nice glow with a finishing serum.

The spa is equipped with several machines which help penetrate key ingredients deep into the dermis as well as exfoliate, lift and tone the skin. Microcurrent, ultrasonic and microdermabrasion.  They also specialize in peels using only the best lactic acid and mushroom peels. For maintenance, Nadia suggested I aim for a full facial once per month if possible, and gentle at-home exfoliation 2-3 times per week.

Upon my second return to the TriBeCa Beauty Spa, I was treated to a luxe pedicure service (as seen in the video).

tribeca-beauty-spa-nailsI would absolutely recommend the TriBeca Beauty Spa. Their specialists are educated and reassuring, taking the time to craft an experience catered specifically for your needs.
