Monday Motivation: Living With No Regrets

LBS-inspires-10.13.14

So this week I’ve been thinking alot about the idea of regret and how playing things safe or being fearful of taking chances can really leave you singing “shoulda, coulda, woulda” for years on end. Then I started to think about what regret really is and how it has an impact on our lives daily. Regret is essentially the idea that had you done things differently in the past, you may be better off than you are today. So my reflection today is two-fold.

First, let go of fear so that you no longer have to dwell in regret. Two weeks ago, Monday Motivation was about “letting go” so you can live a happier life. When it comes down to it, the people who live with regrets are those who were too fearful to take chances. So even though fear may be gripping you at the neck, you have to find the strength to push it aside and go for what you want. It won’t be easy, but whether you win or fail, you’ll ALWAYS be able to say you tried and that you’re truly living with no regrets.

And second, hold onto the idea that everything happens for a reason. Instead of looking back at your life and regretting things, know that everything that has happened had a particular purpose for bringing you to where you are now. Your future is completely up to you. And that should bring you genuine hope.

  1. Shoulda, coulda, woulda gets old after a while. I’ve learned to let go of fear and grab hold of faith. It’s just not healthy living life in a bubble. You miss out on so many opportunities that have the potential to take your life to the next level or put you in a position to change the life of someone else.

We’re all here on borrowed time. Why not make the most of it by living life full out!
