LBS Chic: Love Bump In Lace

So after 24 weeks, I’m officially debuting the baby bump here on LoveBrownSugar. I’m sure you guys have seen sneak peeks of it if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter. But because of my busy schedule, moving residences recently, and trying to get things in order for the baby I just haven’t had the time to post outfits! I promise to do better at updating though.

The lovely folks at ASOS gifted me this black & lace dress from their ASOS Maternity line. There’s nothing I love more than the perfect little black dress, and thanks to shops like ASOS you don’t have to sacrifice your favorites once you find out you’re expecting.

The black makes this look really classy and elegant and the lace sleeves add a little extra detail – great for a date night, or throw on a blazer for a more business-appropriate look.

Dress: c/o ASOS Maternity | Shoes: MIA (similar here for $60) | Chain: c/o ASOS Curve | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target

My friends and family members claim that I look the exact same all-around except for my bump. So the only way they can tell I’m expecting is when I turn to the side!

I’m enjoying experimenting with different maternity looks. The only challenges for me have been finding pants and skirts that fit over my belly. But A-line dresses like this with extra room in the midsection are just perfect.

Little princess is growing along well. She is now 1 pound and 3 oz (based on my last doc’s appointment), healthy heartbeat and she has a mini closet full of tutus and pink onesies that grows everyday thanks to her fashion-obsessed aunties.

So this is about the only handbag I’ve been wearing since the collection debuted in September haha. I’m OBSESSED. This Phillip Lim for Target handbag is perfect in every way.

These shoes are a few seasons old. They’re from MIA shoes in my favorite – python! A pregnant fashionista’s saving grace are platforms. They really don’t feel high at all, and these are lace-up so no matter how wide my feet expand, they will still fit. GUESS sells a similar style for only $60 which is pretty comparable.

A Few Other Options:

ASOS Curve officially has it’s own jewelry line. This Exclusive Shield Chain Necklace ($53.39) is from the collection. I love chainlink jewelry so this one will be in heavy rotation this season.

  1. I love you and I love this post. Amazing dress – the silhouette and lace sleeves are perfect! More tutus to come for my #babybrownsugar! xoxo GlamazonsBlog.com

  2. I love everything about this look… but I’m a beauty girl. Can we get some details on those PERFECT curls?? I’m going natural and that’s a perfect transitioning style. You look amazing.

    1. Hah! Great question. I’m actually wearing extensions in these pics but my natural hair is on top. I used a curling wand to get the curls perfectly rounded. You can also get this look with a flexi-rod set which is a really great transitioning style as well!

  3. FINALLY one of my favorite bloggers is back! That dress is amazing, the sleeves are so my style. And congrats on your new bundle of joy! My cousin just hit 26 weeks and I am dying of anticipation to meet the new addition (I accidentally typed “addiction” which I’m sure he’ll be to all of us as well) to our family. Although I’m no where close to ready to be a mommy yet, I’m so excited to see how you show off your style in amazing maternity garments!

    1. Glad to be back Pepper! Tell your cousin I said “Congrats!” – she should totally check out my new site BabyBrownSugar.com, I’ll be sharing pregnancy advice over there.

  4. I walk away from reading your blog for two seconds and I come back to baby bliss! Welcome to motherhood. I feel like I can relate a little more than before.

    1. Hahaha just two seconds? That was fast, huh? Thanks so much Tenisha! I’m happy to hear you can relate πŸ™‚

  5. I’m late to the congrats party but so happy for you. I’m only 6 months in on the baby journey but I love every single second of it. Proof is on my Instagram feed lol!
