Quick Beauty Fix: Colgate Optic White Express

The best compliment to that bold red lipstick you wear on your most special of occasions is a bright and white smile. As someone who has struggled with imperfections like not-so-pearly whites, I know and understand how something as simple as seeing your teeth glisten in a #selfie can boost your confidence.

Anyway, the folks at Colgate sent me a sample of their new Optic White Express toothpaste to try out. Let me start by saying, I am NOT the type to rave about toothpaste on this here blog. Y’all know me. You come here to see hair and makeup and skincare and fashion and whatnot. So please believe the reason I thought it was important to even post on here is because this stuff actually works.

I remember someone telling me, a long time ago, that the toothpaste industry was created by crafty and tricky ad salesmen back in the day. Think “Mad Men” but like in real life. I remember hearing in one of my college Marketing 101 classes that literally all toothpaste has the same ingredients and the only thing that’s different is the packaging. Hah!

Well it’s safe to say Colgate Optic White Express is cut from a different thread. Believe it or not I actually did see a difference in the color of my teeth after only using it for a week. After brushing just once, my teeth glistened a little brighter in the light. And after a few days, I saw a noticeable lift in color.

I’ve never had the pleasure of getting my teeth professionally whitened, so I don’t have a direct comparison. But I think this toothpaste is as close as you can get without crossing over to the at-home whitening system realm. I really do like it after a 7-day trial and will continue to use it to see if my teeth improve even more.

In fact using it has me curious about other pastes and systems so I might give myself a trial run this summer with a few different products. So far, Colgate Optic White Express is in the lead.

What about you? Have you tried any whitening pastes or systems? What do you use?

  1. I’ll be watching your progress. I’m interested in that product but I don’t want to buy something that will end up in the ‘dead product drawer’. lol
