On Friday night, the stars were out for the 2015 NAACP Image Awards Red Carpet. Presented by TVOne in Pasadena, California, this award show honors people of color in film, television, music and literature. So all our favorite celebrities had on their best to celebrate. Keep reading for the rundown of the most notable looks of the night!

Angela Bassett slayed with this look! Black really does not crack, because at 56 she is looking better than ever. This black and gold gown by Xtreme, accented with matching gold braceletswas the perfect compliment to her svelte shape! Definitely one of our favorite looks of the night.
Brown beauties Kerry Washington and Gabrielle Union, bka Olivia Pope and Mary Jane, snapped this adorable photo together on the red carpet and broke the internet! Kerry’s red Zuhair Murad gown was simple perfection! Gabrielle Union’s blush gown by Gauri & Nainika was more detailed with a cutout waist and wrapped neckline. Both of these ladies rocked the carpet with grace and style.
Niecy Nash definitely got it right in this tulle fishtail gown! The off the shoulder neckline was sexy and still kept the girls under control, if you know what I mean. The fitted silhouette is so flattering on her curves and whoever did her makeup had her glowing. Slay, mama!

The ladies are always gorgeous and all but the guys always get overlooked. So let’s briefly enjoy this fine specimen that is Common in his perfectly tailored suit. Ok now back to regularly scheduled programming…
Another of our favorite looks! Teyonah Parris was so elegant and adorable, as usual, in this cream colored gown. The tulle overlay was the perfect touch on the fitted silhouette! And she always keeps her natural hair right and tight on the Red Carpet. Yass, updo!
Eva Marcille made an appearance on the Image Awards Red Carpet last night as well. Loved the blue ombre effect in her look and that top knot was laid, honey! Not sure how I feel about the full skirt-bralette combo for the red carpet though. Thoughts?
Last, but not least, we have to shoutout Ms. Taraji P. Henson, or “Cookie” for all our fellow EMPIRE fans! She wore a stunning strapless red gown and side braid to the Image Awards– simple and chic. Taraji also ended the night with winning the biggest of the Image Awards: Entertainer of the Year!
