Runway Review: Best of Spring 2015

Runway Review LBS

With all the domestic and international fashion weeks over, it’s time to sit and make sense of it all. Designers spared no expense to pull off their over the top creations for Spring 2015.  Although there were thousands of looks presented, there were a few standout pieces that deserve special recognition. In the name of all things stylish, let’s send fashion week off with a bang and celebrate the best in show for Spring 2015.

Oh Karl, how we love you! Chanel Spring 2015 was absolutely amazing. The presentation alone, will go down in fashion HERstory as one for the books, per usual. This tweed trench with brightly colored lining and matching knee boots stole the show! So classicly Chanel, but with a modern twist.

blumarine

Blumarine nailed it with this transparent mesh and floral appliche gown. I can so picture celebs like Nikki or Katy taking a number and standing in line to wear this dress come award season. It’s serving me simultaneous sex appeal and softness, and I love it.

I was floored when I saw this linear and geometric masterpiece by Balmain. For me this is what the European runway is all about. Drama! Balmain, known for in your face bold creations killed this season! This look however was all I needed to see.

J. Mendel

This gorgeous J. Mendel gown moved like water. Pictures don’t do it no justice. From the color-blocking to the sky scrapping split, this dress is definitely  for a grown (bleep) woman. It’s attention grabbing and powerful just like the woman it was made for. It was without a doubt one of my favs of the season.

Who doesn’t look forward to Alexander McQueen every season, I know I do. His show stopping designs literally take a few years for everyone to catch up to. McQueen collections give me the chills, I can always tell how much work went into each intricate detail, and this season was now different. This jumpsuit and bandeau may as well have just slapped me in the face. I was struck. Case closed.
