It’s my second day rocking Silver Jeans as part of the Style Wars challenge, and I could really get used to this! Seriously, these jeans are so comfortable. For my second post I decided to style their Sam Boyfriend Jeans ($85.00) with a few new pieces in my wardrobe.
I had been looking for a mixed leather/cargo jacket since last season but couldn’t find one just perfect for me, until I stumbled on this one at H&M a few week ago. I blogged about it here in my LBS in LA post as well. It’s my new favorite piece of outerwear.
It goes really well with pretty much anything. I love how it looks with cropped boyfriend jeans and heels.
I scored these heels on sale at Zara about a month ago. Couldn’t wait to put them on!
Can’t wait to rock these in the spring with a super cute tailored dress. I love that they’re neutrals with a pop of color.
For my handbag, I pulled out an oldie but a goodie. My vintage Coach Willis Bag ($298). I wore my street vendor bangles, my Michael Kors watch and Crown Midi Rings by TNEMNRODA ($30)
Ok guys, you know what to do! Head over to the Silver Jeans Facebook Page
and vote for Team East Coast (including me!) Just ‘like’ our photos on the Facebook page to cast your vote. Also, stay tuned! Tomorrow I’m giving away a pair of Silver Jeans to one of you lovelies. Can’t wait!
Hey guys! Ok so I know that I’ve asked you guys quite a few times to vote for me, in different competitions. The last one I competed in was the Silver Jeans competition and I got so incredibly close to winning, but unfortunately I lost in the last stretch. Well, if you know anything about me, you know that I never give up. I’ve been dying to take home a win in one of these style competitions, so with slight hesitation (and a little fear of failure), I entered myself again.
Refinery 29 just launched a new contest with luxury retailer Cole Haan and they’re looking for NYC’s Most Stylish Hood. They asked contestants to submit pictures that represent their ‘hood for a chance to win an editorial on Refinery29, a Cole Haan wardrobe and FREE NYC transit access for a YEAR! Considering how much I pay in transit fees each month, I couldn’t pass up this opportunity.
I entered the following pic from my “Harlem Daze” post:
I feel like this pic best represents my love for Harlem and the classic uptown chic aesthetic. It really exudes how I feel about this neighborhood; the perfect mix of grit & glamour.
Ok so here’s where I need your help! I need to rack up these votes in order to be a worthy competitor.
If you click on the ‘Most Popular Contestants’ tab, it should be easier to find me. Login with your Facebook account, then click the heart in the left hand corner:
Thanks in advance guys!!

This weekend, I returned to my old stomping grounds to partake in the Budweiser Made In America Festival. I spent four years in Philadelphia for my undergrad studies, so it felt good to be back in the City of Brotherly love, even if the trip was brief. Get into the sights, smiles & street style I bumped into at the festival:
The eye gear at the festival was everything. From coke bottle top spectacles to wayfarers and aviators. Spotted lots of awesome eyewear. This beauty was standing near me during the Janelle Monae set. Had to snap her pic!
If this isn’t free advertising for Nike, I don’t know what is. I thought her tattoo was really awesome.
The hair! Can’t forget the awesome hair & head gear. From golden chains to flower crowns, box braids and turbans. People got really creative.
Loved her updo! Should’ve asked her for a tutorial. That would’ve been awkward huh? Yeah I know.
Ran into my man Curran J of Kings Rule Together! When you have a chance, slip over to his site and check him out. He has a really dope clothing line. (He’s had the likes of Jaden Smith rocking his tees)
Here’s one of the tees – awesome right?
Obsessed with her up-do!
Stylish friends I stopped on the street.
My festival look!
