Sisi Nike Pro Beauty Makeup Workshop

I’ve known self-taught makeup artist Sisi Nike for years now and so I was delighted when I heard she would be hosting her very own Pro Beauty Makeup Workshop here in NYC. Only bummer? It was on the same day as my #ShopLoveBrownSugar event! As bummed as I was, I still got a taste of this amazing event as my good friend Amber Peterson attended and covered it on behalf of LoveBrownSugar. Amber learned so much at this workshop, she was able to go home and actually use some of these tips to perfect her natural beauty look! Read on for a recap of the event and to see how Amber used Sisi’s tips to perfect her makeup look.

Sisi Nike is a self-taught makeup artist based in the NY/NJ Metropolitan area with a passion for educating women on accentuating their natural beauty with make-up. She has developed quite a following providing services for celebrity clients such as Angela Simmons and project runway designer Samantha Black. Sisi recently extended her services to include makeup workshops that provide step-by-step live tutorials on full make up application. I had the pleasure of attending her first makeup workshop. Here’s how it went:

During the workshop Sisi completed a full make-up application on model Whitney Erby. Sisi created a beautiful satin finished make up application providing detailed instructions on how to achieve the look that began with eyebrows and ended with a gorgeous rose-colored lip. She also revealed some of her favorite products that included Black Opal Shade Sticks, Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, Iman Cosmetics Perfect Eyebrow Pencil in Blackest Brown, and MAC Lustreglass in Beaux.

The workshop was incredibly informative for any woman looking to take their make-up skills to the next level. I was particularly interested in understanding the concept of highlighting and contouring in order to improve my own make up application. Sisi’s step-by-step tutorial and go-to products left me excited about recreating Whitney’s look on myself at home. Here’s how it came out:

 

Sisi’s makeup workshops are great for the makeuup novice as well as the more experienced who are looking to add to their repertoire. She plans to host several workshops in 2015 and we anxiously await her next class.
