4 Fit Ways To Prepare Legs For Shorts

Editor’s Note: There was such a great response from our first-ever fitness/nutrition guest blogger Teena Cathey in her post about “4 Ways Healthy Living Enhances Your Beauty“, that I invited her to chat with us about prepping for the spring/summer season.

Spring is just a month away, beginning on March 20th! You probably can’t see it, because that seven foot tall snow bank is blocking your view, but it’s time to go shopping to find a pair of shorts you will look great in. Doesn’t matter what type of shorts you decide to rock this season: bermudas, high waisted, or booty shorts, here are four ways to get your legs ready for shorts this summer:

1. Buy Your Shorts Now So You Have A Visual

Find a pair of shorts that you absolutely MUST HAVE. I mean, shorts that are made just for you that Beyoncé herself couldn’t rock. When you find that pair, hang them where you will see them often. Do this so you will have a constant reminder and actually see what it is you are trying to accomplish. Having something tangible or visual will help you reach your goal.

2. Eat Lean To Get Lean Legs

Eat fruits, vegetables, healthy fats and lean meats like turkey, fish and chicken. Steer away from fatty, greasy and sugary foods like processed foods and red meat. Lean foods will help lessen the appearance of cellulite. Then you’ll get (your version of) lean legs. Here are a few apps you can download to help you eat healthier for lean legs:

3. Work It Out Girl

Working out is a great way to tone and shape your legs for a cute pair of shorts. Some women want great-looking calf muscles, others want that definition line in their thighs that Serena Williams has. Whatever it is you want to achieve, you have to work for it. Here are some apps you can use to get you started:

4. Friendly Competition

Get your friend(s) involved and share your goals. When you work with friends you are more likely to push yourself harder and reach your goals faster than you would alone. Plus, it brings more excitement to your workout routine so you don’t get bored.

Are you ready to rock shorts this summer? What are you doing to prepare?
