4 Ways to Organize Your Natural Hair Products

The bathroom: The only place—outside of your bedroom—where it’s possible to create an utter and complete mess while making it out unscathed and ready to slay. If you’ve been leading the naturalists lifestyle chances are you’ve accumulated enough natural hair care products to start your own beauty supply. And even if you’re not into rocking two-strand twists or wash-and-gos, you can follow the tips below to organize and declutter your space.

1. Leave the co-wash, shampoos, deep conditioners and leave-in conditioners in the shower.

If you’re wetting your hair, it’s probably best to stay in one central area. There’s nothing worse then leaving puddles of water all over the house.  Keep these items in the shower where the soap suds are welcome. Get a shower caddy where they’ll be easy to reach and ready for use. You’ll literally be clean from head to toe, and when you step out the tub all you’ll have to do is sit under the dryer and let your favorite deep conditioner run its course.

2. Place brushes, combs and afro picks in their own tub.

You should make a habit of washing your combs and brushes as frequently as you wash your hair. Soak your bushes and sterilize your combs, and keep all these items together so that they don’t accidentally find their way into your curly custard.

3. Keep the gels, oils, moisturizers and spray bottles in the same basket.

These are your everyday items, and most likely the items that are always out of place. Give them a home and make sure they’re easy to grab, and even easier to put back.

4. Keep hair ties, rubber bands, flexi rods, and rollers from disappearing.

You buy an entire pack of 100 bobby pins and after two weeks you can’t find one. We’ve all been there. This is how you prevent playing hide-and-seek with your hair accessories. Keep them in ziplock bags and store them in a basket.

Lastly, get creative! Maximize your storage space by utilizing an over-the-door rack or adding new DIY shelves just for your hair products.
