Red Carpet Countdown: Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon 2015

Yesterday the 8th Annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon took place in Beverly Hills. Presented by Lincoln Motor Company, this luncheon celebrates the talented women of color in the movie and television industries. Our Editor-in-Chief, Christina, was there with all of the biggest black names in Hollywood to celebrate their accomplishments and even got to meet Oprah! In addition to their talents, these women are equally fabulous! Keep reading for our favorite looks from the event.

Natural hair queen, Tracee Ellis Ross, was beautiful in this all white Reed Krakoff midi dress. Paired with matching white pumps and a bold nude lip, this look was simply chic!

White was a big trend at the Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon. Actress Jurnee Smollett wore a midi white dress too, but added some glam to her look with a mutli-colored pump and red lip.

Our girl, Kelly Rowland, made one of her first red carpet appearances since giving birth to her baby boy and looks amazing! She opted for a more laid back look with a lace shorts set.

Tia Mowry’s style continues to give life! We always look forward to her red carpet looks and the Black Women in Hollywood luncheon was no different. This tux-style jumpsuit is so chic and flattering on her body. Tia’s simple makeup and black accessories tie the look together effortlessly.

Orange is the New Black star and Screen Actor’s Guild Award winner Uzo Aduba was another woman that was feeling the white trend. She took her own spin on it with a red floral designed dress and red shoes. This is the perfect look for a fabulous luncheon.

Yasss Niecy Nash! This look is fabulous based on just her hair and makeup. The lace top and pleated teal skirt combo is adorable too. We loved her luncheon look.

Selma director, Ava Duvernay,was stunning in this green printed dress. And her gorgeous long locs are everything!

Speaking of natural hair, Teyonah Parris better slay the natural hair bun game! She brought some color to the red carpet with an emerald Kimberly Goldson suit. That color is beautiful up against her skin.

Mara Brock Akil, who brought us Being Mary Jane, Girlfriends, and The Game, kept it simple in an all black lace jumpsuit. With such a great body and gorgeous face, a simple outfit is all that’s needed!
