So, 2016 is off to a great start. You’ve set your New Year’s resolutions and you’re sticking to them. Or maybe you’re just continuing on your journey, committed to being a better version of yourself everyday. In any case, ’tis the season inspired by new beginnings. Try making subtle but noticeable changes in your space by freshening up your home and atmosphere with these minor adjustments.

1. Bring the outdoors indoors.

2. Reorganize.

Rearrange your bookshelves, clean out those kitchen cabinets and yes, get underneath that bathroom sink. You’d be surprised at how many doubles of seasonings you might have and it’s no secret that keeping haircare products organized is a tedious task. Now’s the time! It’s important that you clear out all the cluttered spaces that you probably pay less attention to throughout the year and do some real, exhaustive housekeeping.

3. Replace your throws.

Throw pillows, throw blankets, anything “throw” has got to go. Maybe not thrown out but definitely updated. Add some new colors to welcome the season approaching or get a head start on a new decorating project you may have in mind for your space. Start small and let your ideas blossom from there.

4. Add new linen and duvets.

This is a must! Changing your sheets is like replacing you upper drawer with new Victoria’s Secret inventory. While letting them soak and double rinse on every cycle may have worked wonders and preserved your soft and comfy linen and duvet sets, sometimes a fresh start is best.

5. Watch your step.

You’ve been stepping out of the shower and onto the same bathmat for how long? If you had to stop and wonder or the thought was anything less than pleasant, it’s time for an update.

6. Try a new bathroom mirror.

8. Add something vintage.

Adding something vintage gives your space character and adds that “one of these things is not like the other” but definitely belongs element. Vintage will set your space apart from others and enhance your one-of-a-kind approach to style.

9. Aromatize the air.

Buy a new fragrance to create a new ambiance that reflects the new tone you’ve set with your mini makeover. Candles, incense, essential oils and smudging are just a few ways to revitalize and enliven the atmosphere.
