LBS had the pleasure of attending the OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and Tyler Perry Studios screening party for Season 2 of their hit shows “The Haves and the Have Nots” and “Love Thy Neighbor.” Attendees were giving the pleasure of watching a full episode of “The Haves and the Have Nots” and a preview of “Love Thy Neighbor.” If you’re familiar with these shows you know that “The Haves and the Have nots” will have your adrenaline going and “Love thy Neighbor” brings you an evening full of non-stop laughter. I had heard of the shows prior to the screening but never watched an episode. I took time this weekend and crammed in the whole season of “The Haves and the Have Nots”, quickly realizing I had been missing out on a great show.
Once the screening took place, the room was filled with laughs and continuous commentary as everyone watched to see what the first episode would hold. During the Q&A session the cast cracked jokes and even got a little teary-eyed as they let the audience know how grateful they were for the opportunity that Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey had awarded them.
Angela Robinson (left) wore a long black one-shoulder dress. The opening across her chest really brings out the beauty in the dress. Patrice Lovely (middle) accentuated her off the shoulder dress with jewelry from Swarovski. Eva Tamargo (right) wore a Diane Von Furstenberg jumpsuit. She let us know that it was actually her first time wearing a jumpsuit. Black was definitely the color of the night.
In beauty, Kendra C. Johnson (left) gave us warm colors with a nude lip to round it off. Darmirra Brunson (middle) highlighted her look with a smokey eye. Jaclyn Betham (right) chose a bright red lip to compliment her black dress. I loved how the ladies chose to go easy on the makeup but add a little something to tie it all together.
After the screening I had the chance to talk with the casts about their New Year resolutions, fashion predicitions, things they couldn’t live without and what song on the new “Beyoncé” album was their favorite!
Fun Facts About The Cast:
1. There was a clear consensus, amongs both casts, that the wardrobe staff at Tyler Perry Studios is amazing! Everyone agreed that wardrobe is an integral part in bringing their characters to life and the wardrobe staff does a great job at doing it.
2. For the New Year, Eva Tamargo and Tyler Lepley want to improve on their mental state. Eva is working on aligning her actions better with her words while Tyler says he doesn’t want to become comfortable enough that he forgets what it takes to win! (These two should have been in our #LBSLounge chat last Sunday)

3. Patrice Lovely said she never leaves home without hand sanitizer in her purse. Hand sanitizers, with a fragrance, are her go-to beauty product. She does not play when it comes to keeping her hands germ free.
4. John Schneider & Renee Lawless are both looking forward to the upcoming fashion season. Reneé is excited to see more timeless shoes being made as well as women getting back to a feminine style of clothing. John would like to see more quality clothing and he hopes lapel suits make a comeback. (Well John, you know what they say about history repeating itself).
5. Kendra C. Johnson let us know the beauty product she cannot go without would be her Extra Emollient Night Cream by Mary Kay. She said it’s the TRUTH! She is also a proud size 12 in shoes! (Can I get 2 snaps for the size 10 & up crew?)
6. Andre Hall loves high fashion brands such as Dolce & Gabana, Gucci, Fendi, Prada, but is also a Ralph Lauren type of guy. Although he’s a bit on the shorter side, he’d love to do a runway show. (Hey Ralph Lauren, we approve.)
7. Palmer Williams considers his personal style to be conservative with a tendency to take calculated risk. He enjoys wearing things that are professional but also likes wearing things that express how he is feeling.
8. Drunk in Love, Pretty Hurts, and Flawless reigned as the most favorite songs off Beyoncé’s newest album. Darmirra Brunson let us know she loves Flawless because its a chick anthem and even though we don’t really “wake up like this” Beyonce makes it okay for us to say.
It’s obvious Tyler Perry handpicked each of these actors for a reason. No doubt their faith, belief in Tyler Perry’s vision and belief in their dreams is what drives the success of these shows!
Excited for Season 2 of “The Haves and the Have Nots” and “Love Thy Neighbor”? We’ll definitely be tuned in.
