Kickin’ It: J. Jill Styling Party at The Mall at Short Hills

j-jill-compassion-fund-partyOver the weekend I announced that I would be hosting a fun styling party with J. Jill at the Mall at Short Hills in New Jersey. As part of their Compassion Fund, J.Jill supports community organizations that help women by allowing their customers to participate in a cool donation program. For every gently used piece of clothing you bring in, J. Jill will give you 25% off a brand new clothing item from the store. My event at The Mall at Short Hills was the kickoff to their initiative this year and was in support of a local charity called York Street Project (go to their site to find out more info – such a great program).

During the party, I helped style some of the beautiful young women who are part of the organization. Many of these women are working to complete their education, get their degrees and join the workforce. So I helped them to pull together really nice and sophisticated looks that were both versatile and comfortable for them to wear on interviews and also on the job.

It was SO much fun getting to meet and greet these beautiful young women. Many of them were my age, some of them with children and they have such great personal stories. I mean, just SO inspiring.

Madelin here wasn’t quite sure what look she wanted to go for. She’s petite and has a great sense of style so I helped her pull some items from the J. Jill Petites section that were well-fitted for her body type and made her look great without losing herself.

I myself came to the event decked out in J.Jill. I chose to wear their Pure Jill Delave Linen Open-Front Jacket and the Drawstring Easy Jeans in Driftwood (which fit so beautifully – perfect amount of stretch!). J.Jill has some really great classic pieces to help you build a foundation for your wardrobe and they offer up to size 28W which is great.

All in all I had a blast with the J.Jill team and the women of York Street Project. It makes me feel so amazing that I was able to help each of them feel great in their clothes. In the end, the goal is to feel great about yourself so you can focus on putting your best foot forward at home and at work.

I truly wish that for every woman out there, hence why I pour my heart and soul into LoveBrownSugar.
