LBS Beauty Review: Cover FX CC Cream

So when the BB Cream/CC cream craze first started, I must say I was quite the skeptic. I’m always a bit skeptical about products that claim to do 4098674 things at once. Improve skin tone, protect it, and act as a coverup at the same time? Nah son. I had my side eyes ready. In addition to the fact that some all-in-one products don’t really do what they say they will, it’s often hard for women of color like myself to even try them out because mass retailers who make these products don’t offer them in our skin tones.

Anyway, as skeptical as I am about “miracle” products, the Cover FX CC Cream has definitely converted me. Though it’s quite an investment at $45/bottle, it’s well worth the money for what it provides. CC stands for “Color/Complexion Correcting”. The COVER FX CC Cream Time Release Tinted Treatment SPF 30 claims to treat, corrects and protect your skin with build-able coverage. Although I’m not particularly concerned with the anti-aging benefits, I can say that it definitely delivers by color-correcting skin tone and providing light but complete coverage.

In addition, Cover FX offers 9 different shades. This is HUGE considering most BB/CC Creams only come in 3-5 shades, most of which don’t match my skin. So finding something that matches well and that actually works is beyond amazing.

I’m an N X-Deep in the collection. You only need a small amount to start. You can use a sponge or a brush, but I tend to use my fingers and smooth the product evenly across my skin. It goes on really smooth and I could immediately see uneven skin tone, blemishes and discolorations disappearing. It works. I’m a believer.
