Put Your Heart To Paper for Mother’s Day

hallmark-greeting-cards

If you’re anything like me, there are a few different mommy figures in your life this Mother’s Day season that you have to honor. There are women in my life that have definitively shaped me and also my own journey as a mom. For me, greeting cards put that extra special touch on top of any special occasion gift. Sometimes the card is just as important as the gift. I get so sappy in the greeting card aisle, you’re liable to find me in a corner crying over a card before I purchase it. Yeah, I’m that girl.

Anyway, when it comes to purchasing greeting cards I’m almost always drawn to the Hallmark section. They have the most creative and heartfelt messages and their writers always find a way to capture the feeling I’m trying to convey. Greeting cards are not one-size-fits-all. You will undoubtedly have something different to say to your Best Friend than you do to your Mother-in-Law, for example. This Mother’s Day, these are the four different types of women I’m honoring and a few Hallmark greeting cards that can help you put your heart to paper and convey the message:

My Sisters

My older sisters have always been a huge support system for me and now that they have children of their own, they’ve been my confidants and my council for advice.

They each have their own special way of parenting and loving and I know they’ll always be there to help and to give me a guidelines for raising my own children.

My Best Mommy Friends

There’s something very special about my relationship with fellow mommies who are my peers and friends.

I’m actually one of the only moms in my set of friends and so it was important for me to establish relationships with other mommies around my age.

They definitely deserve special greetings. I love the card above because it’s young and vibrant and it conveys the message. I’m also obsessed with Hallmark’s Mahogany line. Such beautiful images of women of color.

My Mom

What can you say to the woman who has given you everything? Who gave birth to you, raised you and taught you everything you know? “I love you” typically does the trick.

This year, my Mom gets a special Grandma one.

She’s my rock and she has helped me so much with baby Cadence. Grandma of the Year, for real.

My Aunt

I know for many, an aunt can be like a second mom. Some also serve double duty as Godmothers. Whatever your aunt is to you, if they’re fellow moms they probably hold a special place in your heart. For that, they deserve something special.

Anyway, as you guys are doing your last-minute Mother’s Day shopping, don’t forget to scoop up a nice Hallmark greeting card to complete your gift. Check out their “Put Your Heart To Paper” campaign by clicking here. And check out one of their videos here, so sweet:
