3 Ways To Transition Styles from Summer to Fall with JCPenney

It’s that time of the year when it’s time to transition your wardrobe over from denim cutoffs and crop tops to knit sweaters and booties. Though you may be adding on a few extra layers, you can still keep the fun and vibrancy of summer with some stylish and well-placed pops of color and transitional silhouettes that allow you to usher in the fall breeze with style. I know I personally struggle with not wanting to let go of my favorite pieces in the summer.

JCPenney has a nice mix of trend and classic pieces to empower you to easily transition styles from summer to fall with ease.

Here are some easy ways to keep the party going into fall in pieces that work for various shapes and sizes:

1. The Day to Night Dress

A good, structured dress like this one can easily transition you from summer to fall. It’s sleeveless but can also be layered under a blazer or cardigan for work.

What I like most about this Worthington dress that I snagged at JCPenney is that it has a nice stretch and it’s not too stiff even though it has structure.

Pair it with a fashion-meets-function bag and a great solid pair of heels for the perfect day look. Slap on a statement necklace and a cute leather clutch for an electric nighttime look.

2. The Fancy Pants

The easiest way to add a pop of color to a neutral-based wardrobe for Fall is to do it with just one piece at a time. Colored denim is the perfect way. Choose a color that compliments you well and either pair it with a nude basic knit top like this one from Joe Fresh (they have mini pop-ups within JCPenney!) or pair it with another bold color for a color-blocking moment.

I dressed this look with high heeled peeptoe booties. You can also dress it down with sneakers or flats for a more casual look. Mustard is one of my favorite colors so when I saw these Stylus pants hanging on the rack, I had to snag them.

The stretch on these is really great. They are so comfortable. Very important for girls like me who’d rather be in a dress than denim any day.

3. The Transitional Tunic

My all-time favorite summer piece is a nice tunic. Something with printed detailing that’s just long enough to wear as a dress or a top depending on how you style it.

This Olsenboye piece can be worn now as an awesome summer dress or beach coverup with sunnies and statement flats.

In the fall, it can be quickly and easily paired up with your favorite pair of skinnies and heels for a fall-appropriate look.
