Beautiful Textures Texture Manageability System Update

beautiful-textures-texture-manageability-system-updateLast April, I wrote a hair review of Beautiful Textures’ Naturally Straight™ Texture Manageability System. It’s a system that helps girls like me with coarse and curly hair get our hair to stay straight longer after a blowout/press. It also has a host of other incredible uses for low-maintenance hair girls like myself who want to take the stress out of heat-styling, have an easier transition from relaxed to straight, or even who want to revive a weave on its last leg.

And as an added bonus, after using it, kinks and curls are softened and more manageable than beforehand. My results last year were pretty awesome:

Well, the folks at Beautiful Textures asked me to weigh in on how my hair is doing one year post-trial. How many of y’all know the struggle when a product is good on that first try, but 12 months later you’re like “Aww hell nawl”? The struggle is real. Also, because the system relies on an InnerActiv Conditioner to activate it, some of you had concerns about whether or not it was a relaxer or texturizer or if it had harsh ingredients. None of the above. It simply works with the proteins in your hair to smooth your hair cuticles and make it easier for you to heat-style, transition and manage your curls.

Don’t believe me? I’ll just show you. Here are 3 ways my hair has been better off since using the Beautiful Textures Texture Manageability System last year:

1. My Press & Curls Last Longer

Like, way longer. My curls used to make a shady appearance by about Day 5 of my press, whether it was due to working out or showering or just living and breathing. But with the TMS system, I could go for weeks with a press and it still be in tacts by Day 14 or so. My hair would only revert back when I was ready to wash and condition it.

2. My Natural Curls Are Softer

Immediately after washing my hair of the Beautiful Textures Texture Manageability System, I could feel a huge difference in the softness of my hair. My hair had a little more slip to it, the curls were slightly more defined and it was just easier for me to run a detangler through it without a SWAT team involved. (Ok, I’m being dramatic with the SWAT team, but my hair was legit softer)

3. My ‘Leave-Out’ Blends More Easily

If you know me, you know I love a good weave or protective style. I like to give my hair breaks in between wearing my curls out. One thing that I didn’t expect when I wore straight hair this past winter, was how easily my hair blended in after using the TMS. Because it helps your hair stay straight longer and also prevents against humidity causing frizz, I could literally dance the night away with my straight hair and not have to worry about resembling a poodle at the end of the night. My stylist also didn’t have to use much heat to get my hair straight which is a huge plus. The less heat, the better if you want to preserve your curls.

So there you have it! No trickery, no witchcraft and no lye (pun intended). There are very few products I rave about consistently but I have to say this one is pretty amazing when used the correct way. Don’t forget to follow the instructions carefully – everything in moderation.

UPDATE (8/31/15): The TMS system has been so well-received, celebrity stylist Felicia Leatherwood will be making an appearance on daytime show The Real on Wednesday, September 2nd to talk all about the system’s benefits. Tune in information is below. Be sure to check out why so many people love it!
