LBS Beauty Review: Carol’s Daughter Sacred Tiare Collection

Last week I tried out one of the newest collections from Carol’s Daughter – their Sacred Tiare collection, available exclusively at Target. The brand was nice enough to send over a sample of the Sacred Tiare Anti-Breakage & Anti-Frizz Sulfate-Free Shampoo ($12) and the Sacred Tiare Anti-Breakage & Anti-Frizz Fortifying Conditioner ($14). These are just two of the six product found in the entire collection. They also have a host of styling serums, a leave-in, a deep treatment mask and more. Here’s my review of the Carol’s Daughter Sacred Tiare shampoo & conditioner combo:

So the main claims for the Sacred Tiare collection is that it is ideal for those with frizzy, dry or damaged hair. It has been proven to prevent and stop excessive shedding and breakage, and it smoothes frizz.

So with that in mind, I decided to start my review off with a head of hair that was ready for some moisture. After wearing my curls out for a week, it was dry, dirty, frizzy and badly in need of a shampoo.

Their shampoo, like all of the shampoos now in the Carol’s Daughter portfolio is sulfate-free. It’s the first step in the system. What I’ve found with most of their shampoos is that you must immediately follow them up with a conditioner because although they are sulfate-free, they do suds up and are definitely meant to deeply clarify your hair.

The shampoo’s key ingredients include:

• Coprah Coconut Oil
• Tiare Gardenia
• Shea Butter
• Moringa Seed Oil
• Hibiscus Extract
• Vegetable Protein
• Silk

I found the system’s conditioner to be really moisturizing and a nice follow-up to the shampoo. I wouldn’t recommend this for co-washing as the conditioner didn’t have tons of slip but it did restore my curls and after my final rinse with cool water, my hair felt so soft and smooth.

The conditioner’s frizz-fighting and smoothing ingredients include the following:

• Coprah Coconut Oil
• Tiare Gardenia
• Shea Butter
• Moringa Oil
• Babassu Oil
• Jojoba
• Hibiscus
• Silk
• Olive Oil
• Pro-vitamin B5

I definitely feel like this collection did what it said it was going to do by making my hair feel smooth and soft. I noticed significantly less frizz before styling. I think you’d probably see even better results after extended use (like over the course of a month or so).

after-sacred-tiareI followed up the system with a deep condition as well (because I needed one) and after that I tension blow-dried it and styled it in a twistout.

My curls were really smooth and the only real frizz was the frizz I personally created when I fluffed and picked out my curls at the root for volume.

I have a few friends that have tried the collection as well and swear by it. This will definitely be going into my rotation of shampoo/conditioner systems to hold onto.

  1. I’ve actually never tried any of Carol’s Daughter products, but this collection might be the move. I have an issue detangling my hair after shampooing, so if it can help with that, I’d like to try it. PS. Loving the lip color you’re wearing in these photos!

    1. It’s really great and my hair was pretty smooth after using it. I’m sure it’s even better if you use the whole system too. Gonna try and get my hands on their hair mask. I love a good deep treatment mask lol. Thanks for checking out my review Drea!
