Style Play Polish: 5 Deep Wine Nail Polish Shades

One of the nail trends I get excited for during the fall season is deep colors like blacks, grays and deep reds. I have an overwhelming supply of deep wine nail polish shades but of all the ones I rotate throughout the fall/winter season, these 5 are my favorite:

1. Essie: The first on my list of faves and to the far left is Essie’s “Skirting The Issue” ($8.00). It’s a great deep red that gives high gloss shine and is the perfect mix of translucent and opaque.

2. Illamasqua: Though it’s only sold in select retailers, I stumbled on this Illamasqua Nail Varnish ($23.53) in Scarab during a trip to Sephora last year and fell in love with this color, which has a brown-red undertone with a hint of shimmer.

3. Sally Hansen: If you’re looking for a great deep red that will dry super quick (like “I’m late for work and I have a meeting today” quick), you must give Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Cinna-Snap a try.

4. Butter London: More in the purple family than red, I threw Butter London’s Branwen’s Feather on the list because it has slightly reddish undertones. It’s a beautiful vampy purple you’ll love for fall.

5. Chanel: There’s nothing more luxurious than Parisian fashion house Chanel. If you can’t rock a quilted original, their nail lacquer is the way to go. This Chanel Le Vernis Nail Lacquer ($29.03) is luxuriously thick and the perfect mix of purple and red for fall.
