Best in Made in America Festival Style 2015 Day 1

PicMonkey with text redux

This Saturday Philadelphia was filled with everything brown girls love from big hair and bold lipstick to Beyoncé as the city celebrated the 4th annual Budweiser Made in America music festival.

Our cameras caught up with all the chic late summer styles presented on the Benjamin Franklin parkway.

The returning trend of wearing a traditional dashiki as a fashion statement was front and center. This beautiful brown girl wore one in a teal shade pairing the printed garment with deep lipstick, septum jewelry and low maintenance braids. She also shielded herself from the sun by adding round frames.

This young lady combined cascading curls with an old school choker. Love that these are coming back! She finished off the look with MAC lipstick in ‘Stone’ and big ol’ smile.

A fringed skirt and sparkly jelly sandals gave this look a playful edge. She kept the beauty look adult with matte lips and soft waves.

We at LoveBrownSugar have never met a maxidress we didn’t love! We’re also fans of flash tattoos.

While some branched out by rocking the only transitional item you’ll be needing this fall others clung to summer vibes.

The only thing more perfect than this pixie hair and pink lipstick is her printed sneakers! This is an example of how mixing prints can be totally worth the risk.

This tie-dye shirt and floppy hat was giving me “Sister Sister” vibes. Sidebar- is anyone else hoping that’s the next 90’s show they bring to Netflix?

Sometimes simplicity is best. This look screamed “off-duty model”, Kendall Jenner watch your back girl!

Finally we asked this lovely lady her take on Made in America style and she replied “I like to stand out”. Mission accomplished!
