Backstage at the Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2014 show, the hair look was one of our favorites – a chic yet undone milkmaid braid. We chatted it up with TRESemme lead hairstylist Jeanie Syfu who explained how we can get this look using TRESemme hair products. Check it out:

backstage-rebecca-minkoff-spring-2014“So the inspiration for the collection this season comes from an old photo that Rebecca found of Bianca Jagger going to Mexico. We played with that idea with the hair. We thought of Frida Kahlo being a point of reference and we love the idea of braids, because that’s a spring go-to style. So we did a deconstructed interpretation of Frida Kahlo. “

“We created some really cool texture with the TRESemme 24-Hour Body Mousse. We just rubbed it through with our fingers and then backbrushed the hair a little bit with a teasing brush so we had a few undone flyaways in there, adding in some TRESemme 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray.

tresemme-rebecca-minkoff-spring-2014“Then after we had texture, we created a deep side part but we did a messy zig-zag. We separated three separate sections of the hair into ponytails and we then did four-strand braids using TRESemme Dry Shampoo on the braids to make them matte and messy.”
